The Crown of Thorns is made by a plant ( Euphorbia mili ) that grows locally in the Holy Land. It is belived that the Romans used this plant when they mimicked Jesus Christ during the crucifixion and replaced His heavenly crown with the crown of suffering and humiliation. It is a constant reminder of the pain that Jesus endured to those He came to save.
